LED Fixtures and bulbs are so sophisticated that it is now possible to reliably produce them with specific color temperature ranges. Color temperature refers to a measurement on the Kelvin scale that indicates the warmth or coolness of a light source. In residential settings, Warm White (2700-3000K) is the most popular color temperature, providing a friendly, familiar light. Outdoors, Warm White (3000K) is the most popular choice for residential applications, while commercial settings often use Daylight White (5000K). Another important factor is the Color Rendering Index (CRI), which describes how well an LED Fixture consistently produces light in relation to the representation of color. For outdoor fixtures, a CRI of 80 is generally sufficient, but for indoor LED Fixtures, a CRI of at least 80, or even 90 if possible, is recommended to ensure accurate color representation, especially in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
